Honey Creek Puppy Sales Contract Basic Information
This is a sales contract between Tisa N. Slabach of Honey Creek Goldendoodles (hereafter known as "Seller") and ____________________ (hereafter known as "Buyer") acknowledging the sale of one F1 Bernedoodle puppy from Seller to Buyer.
Agreement Seller states that at the time of sale, the puppy is in excellent health to the best of Seller's knowledge. Seller further states that the puppy has been examined by a licensed veterinarian before the time of sale, and will only be sold when declared fit for sale by the examining veterinarian. Seller will ensure that the puppy has received age-appropriate vaccinations before leaving for his or her new home. If being delivered over state lines, the puppy will have a Health Certificate completed by the examining veterinarian. Buyer acknowledges that the puppy is still susceptible to contagious viruses until they have received all of the recommended vaccinations, and that the puppy should not be around places frequented by unvaccinated dogs until that time.
Buyer has three (3) days from the date of sale (the day that the puppy goes home with Buyer) to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian of his/her choice. If the puppy is found to have a disease that will shorten his/her life span. Buyer may return the puppy within the three (3) day warranty period for a full refund, or may choose to go back on the waiting list for a puppy from a future litter, provided that future breedings are planned at that time. Hernias are not covered under warranty---however, Seller will get an estimated cost from Seller's veterinarian to repair the hernia, and the repair cost will be deducted from the total price of the puppy. This price will reflect if the hernia is repaired at the time of spay/neuter, and other costs associated with the spay/neuter will be covered by Buyer, not Seller.
If the puppy is found, within the first year of his/her life to have a fatal hereditary disease, Seller will provide Buyer with a new puppy from a future litter, if future breedings of the same generation cross are planned at that time. In this situation, no money back will be given, and the original puppy may be kept by Buyer if Buyer chooses. Buyer will be added to the end of the current waiting list at their request.
Buyer is responsible for the cost of all veterinary care that the puppy may incur while in Buyer's possession, regardless of the results of any testing.
Seller states that the puppy has received a minimum of their first round of vaccinations from a licensed veterinarian, and has been treated with Pyrantel for hookworms, roundworms, and whipworms a minimum of two (2) times. Buyer agrees to screen the puppy and treat (if necessary) for intestinal parasites at least one more time while the puppy is younger than three (3) months of age. Seller does not guarantee that the puppy is free from intestinal parasites at the time the puppy leaves Seller's possession (this includes, but is not limited to, hookworm, whipworm, roundworm, coccidia and giardia).
Buyer agrees to take over full responsibility of the puppy, including, but not limited to, all veterinary care, food, grooming, socializing and training. Seller will in no way be held responsible for the developing personality of the puppy. Buyer acknowledges that the permanent temperament is determined largely by the experiences that the puppy has in his/her new home after the age of twelve (12) weeks of age.
Seller states that the puppy has had age-appropriate socialization while at Seller's home, and has been socialized with adults of various ages, children of various ages, other dogs, and cats. The puppy has also become accustomed to having his/her feet and ears handled, and has been bathed while in Seller's home.
This puppy has/has not received additional training (beginning crate-training, beginning house-training, beginning basic obedience training, etc.)
Buyer understands that beginning training is not formal training, and the purpose is to give the puppy the best start in life. The puppy will demonstrate any commands learned, but is not expected to always respond correctly to commands given. Buyer understand that the puppy will need further training, and is not house-trained.
If a beginning house-training routine has been started, the puppy has spent at least one week becoming accustomed to being in a crate, and going outside to potty. Buyer understands that this does not mean that the puppy understands that he/she cannot potty in the house.
Seller recommends the use of a crate in training, and will not be held responsible for any damage that the puppy may cause.
Buyer acknowledges that the puppy is sold as a pet, and not a breeding dog, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Buyer agrees not to breed the puppy, and Seller is in no way liable for the quality of puppies produced if Buyer breaks the agreement and breeds the puppy. If the puppy is bred, all of the health guarantees are null and void.
Buyer agrees to have the puppy spayed or neutered within the first year of the puppy's life, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
Buyer agrees to mail or email an update as to how the puppy is doing as he/she grows, and send a picture of the puppy to be shown on Seller's website and/or business social media sites. By signing this, Buyer agrees to all of the above, and gives Seller permission to post all received pictures online at Seller's discretion.
